Running Towards the Sun -
December 1st. I find myself driving to the East Coast. Something I never imaged I would be doing. This trip is being done at a very different pace and for a very different reason than the first coast to coast drive. Again it develops as the days pass. All photographs “copyright by Gary Kaplan”. I’m embarking on a three week road trip the last week of September. I’ll be packing one camera, one lens, 60GB’s of CF cards, light stands, umbrellas, speedlights, background, remote triggers and anything else that will fit into one bag and make an outdoor studio. My theme for the photographs will develop as I get closer to leaving. This blog will document the trail and the people I meet along the way. San Francisco – L.A. – Santa Fe – Oklahoma – Dallas – and the return home. Glad to have you along.
Since then almost everything has changed except that I’m still on my way. Three weeks changed to four, one lens changed to two (though as of yet the second lens has not been used), and three bags changed to two for the airlines. San Francisco – New York by plane. Driving New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma-planning- Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California (home!). So far the travels have been uneventful, which is a great thing. Mostly everyone that I’ve met has been wonderful. The trip is more than I ever expected it to be up to now…..
